Steve Thomas and Habitat ReStores

Steve Thomas, Emmy Award-winning television personality and former host of the home improvement shows "This Old House" and "Renovation Nation," is a big fan of Habitat for Humanity ReStores.

Okaloosa Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, home accessories, building materials, and appliances to the public at a fraction of the retail price.  Our ReStore, operated by Habitat for Humanity in Okaloosa Coutny generates funds that are used to build homes, community, and hope in our area. With your donations and purchases we are realizing the dream of directly sponsoring four homes this year.

Learn how can you help

The Habitat ReStore is a retail operation that helps generate funds to aid the local Habitat affiliate build homes in our neighborhoods.  Every dollar earned at the ReStore directly impacts the building efforts.  There are a variety of ways that you can help at the ReStore.

  • Volunteer - Volunteers are needed every day to help sort donated inventory, help customers with their purchases, help with special projects such as building shelving units, pricing inventory or reset a department
  • Donate - Donations are what help keep the customers returning to the ReStore regularly.  Every day donations are picked up around Okaloosa County and are sold to the public.  If you are renovating, downsizing, moving or changing decor - call the ReStore to donate your tax-deductible materials.
  • Advocate - Spread the word.  That's right, share with others about the gems you have seen, bought or donated to the ReStore.  We have built our name through grassroot efforts and continue to utilize this type of movement with the ReStore.  Share something about the ReStore the next time you have lunch with a friend or attend a meeting with a coworker.
